28, 2005, Austin, TX—Austin-based independent label Grab A Mic
Records artist Cheryl Bliss will perform a special concert with
her band Monday, October 24th at 8 PM at the Cactus Café
in Austin, TX, to commemorate the release of her critically
acclaimed new album, "The Sweet Soul Light." To
celebrate the new release, legendary guitarist and artist Phil
Keaggy, who co-produced the album, will sit in as part of Bliss’
band. He will also perform a solo set following Bliss’ set.
Keaggy is considered by many to be one of the best
guitarists in the world, frequently listed as one of the top
fingerstyle guitarists by Guitar
Player Magazine readers' polls. Tickets
for this very special night of music are only $8 at the door.
“The Sweet Soul
Light” presents a thrilling and eclectic collection of material
featuring a richly layered blend of acoustic and electronic
instruments by one of indie music’s most refreshing voices.
Recorded in San Diego, Austin, and Nashville, the CD was mixed by
John Paterno (Robbie Williams, Badly Drawn Boy, Elvis Costello)
and mastered by Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, Sam Phillips, Johnny
Cash).
Bliss
recently completed a tour of the northeastern U.S. to promote the
new album. A December tour to the east coast is currently being
booked.
