So things have been pretty crazy with the whole album thing … went out to Nashville and thought it was going to be mixed and done, but things don’t always turn out as planned. So I’m waiting to get my precious hard drive with all my songs on it back, and I’m looking for someone fabulous here in town to mix. I can’t just toss any old album out there … it has to sound as great as the recording and the songs deserve. Sorry to make you all wait, but I really believe it will be worth it.
Still loving Austin … went by the set of the Alamo last week, largest movie set ever built in North America. It’s a whole little city. Amazing and cool. Then went by Robert Rodriguez’ studios. He’s the guy who made the Desperado and Spy Kids movies—wrote, directed, produced, edited, did the music, everything. He just seems like the coolest 21st century Renaissance artist and these things make me happy to live in a town like this. So far from the lip-syncing (or not) bleached hair dance on stage in your underwear world … right now the moon is hiding from the sun, a dark, foggy red, makes me want to listen to Frank’s Wild Years and drink merlot. Now, that’s the life …
