So the new site is finally up! You know how you always appreciate things more when you’ve been waiting for a long time … My fab friend Jon jumped in and built the site with much patience for my design skills. Been working hard on the new album. Every song has to be stellar, at least to my ears. I write and discard, write and discard-oh, maybe this little piece could become something. Then out of that remnant a new song rises up. Funny thing, those “remnant” songs are often the best. I’ve also been in the studio, both at home and at the astounding Paramour mansion. Let me tell you, the Paramour is a magical place. It was built for a silent movie star in the ‘20s. Then I guess it become some sort of a nunnery/hospital. There are still some fake body parts (and maybe real ones in jars?) and odd paintings of surgeries on the gilded walls.
The Paramour has since been bought by a lady who rents out wings of it to music producers like Mark Howard (and others, whose names you would recognize), as well as for movie shoots. Scream 3 was filmed there. One of the days I was there, some models and co. came in for a photo shoot. Mark made them move all their gear elsewhere. They were so deferential to me. Well, they should be, considering my diva status. |
